Mel’s Hard Luck Diner

Singing servers at this '50s-style diner

Everyone working at Mel’s Hard Luck Diner has talent. The servers (and sometimes even the cooks, cashiers and hosts) are singers, songwriters and musicians. Many have worked or are still working at big-name shows in town; a couple even appeared on American Idol. Decorated like a 1950s diner with red and chrome chairs, it’s part of The Grand Village shopping complex.

In addition to salads, soups, burgers, and sandwiches, heartier fare ranges from pot roast to the ever popular chicken fried steak. There’s also a children’s menu. And for the sweet tooth, order one of its old-fashioned sodas, a root beer float, or the huge banana split.

You like what what you hear from your singing staff? You can buy their CD in the gift shop.
