Medieval Christmas market

Quaint, rustic and relaxed – that is the Medieval Christmas market in the Stallhof. Here you will find hearty traders loudly praising their hand-made wares while jugglers, jesters and minstrels guarantee wonderful moments whichever way you turn. Very special: a hot bath in a traditional tub. At the weekends bands play medieval music, surrounded by fire-eaters, fortune tellers, knights and an archery tournament on Saturdays. The market is open until 6 January.

Romance and Advent – that goes well together. Funnily, we find it romantic when people fool us into “the Middle Ages,” even though in real life it was anything but homely. The Stallhof – which was once a place for court games – is a very romantic place, the stable courtyard charmingly illuminated. Free entrance during the week, a small fee at weekends.

The market only pauses for the Christmas days and reopens for the twelve nights. After all, they are supposed to be magical nights and days full of superstition.
