Created in the early 1900s, the resort community of Medicine Park rocked with local celebrities, politicians and gangsters in the ‘20s. It rolled with the hippies in the ‘60s, then slid into near-oblivion. Thanks to recognition of its unique cobblestone construction, it has been on the road to recovery and has once again become a special place to get away.
The location, steeped in Indian lore, exudes a siren song which attracts an interesting mix of creative people. Medicine Creek flows through the center of the community, dammed in several spots to create charming little lakes. There are enough small shops and galleries to make a stroll
through town worth-while and landscaping and lighting around Bath Lake creates a romantic walk for a summer evening. There’s a small charge for swimming there in the summer.
