Matt’s Big Breakfast gained a big reputation for being one thing–good–and it is. Oh, and that Food Network episode. That didn’t hurt it’s reputation. Still, the pancakes are top notch thick and tasty. The coffee isn’t bad. And if you can grab a seat at the counter, you won’t have to wait in that long line. There’s good reason for the line, though, the place is small and seats maybe 20, not including the counter. It’s a popular spot for the locals who work in downtown Phoenix, and is one of those places you want to take out of town guests. They specialize in the basics and use fresh ingredients to make them, including local preserves on the toast. Don’t forget to order the OJ. It’ll be freshly squeezed.
