Mary’s Place is the Dells’ oldest hot dog stand. It is tucked into a tall, white building (formerly a church) across the street from Moosejaw Brewing Co.
Mary and Dave operate this impeccably clean restaurant. Dave is proud of the restaurant’s cleanliness. In fact, he says their customers keep coming back for this very reason. (Check out the bathrooms, cleaned every 30 minutes — you could eat off the floors if you wanted.)
The menu at Mary’s Place includes a variety of hot dogs, of course, plus Polish sausage, Italian beef sandwiches, grilled cheese and more. Mary makes homemade iced tea daily, while Dave handles the shakes.
Orders take longer than you’d think for a hot dog place, but that’s because everything’s carefully made. And tastes good.
Dave tugs on a train whistle to let you know when your meal is ready. If the kids are antsy waiting, there’s a game room in the back.
