Built in 2015, Many Glacier Hotel claims one of the most scenic and beloved locations in Glacier National Park. It flanks the shore of Swiftcurrent Lake surrounded by immense peaks. As you would expect, the scenery dwarfs the sprawling National Historic Landmark.
Inside, a massive fireplace commands center stage in the four-story lobby while a rebuilt circular stairway leads to the gift shop and snack bar. The hotel contains the Ptarmigan Room restaurant, which makes for grand dining with views. Daily, you can take guided tours of the historic building.
In the past decade, a $30 million restoration propped up the hotel and revamped rooms. But historic elements still remain; rooms have no air-conditioning or televisions.
Lake view rooms get to enjoy the sunrise lighting up Mt. Wilbur while mountain view rooms wake to the jangle of horses. A large deck allows a place for soaking up the scenery and watching wildlife.
Make lodging reservations a year in advance for this coveted hotel. No reservations are taken for the Ptarmigan Room.
