No doubt, you’ve seen photos of this 15th-century house, because it is one of the most famous and most-often-photographed buildings in Strasbourg.
Today, the historic monument is a tourist attraction as well as a luxury hotel, a splurge restaurant, and a cozy wine bar.
Take time to appreciate the ornate Gothic architecture, and consider staying overnight in one of the renovated rooms. The original half-timbered house was constructed in 1427. Linger over the exterior decoration and notice the sculpted images and frescoes of Biblical characters, the five human senses, and the familiar trio: Faith, Hope, and Charity.
