While not exactly off the beaten track, Magnolia Bistro is tucked away in a corner near City Hall Park. It usually doesn’t have the waits that some other popular breakfast spots do, but it does offer a great breakfast and lunch menu. The restaurant’s interior is a cozy affair with exposed brick pillars, and it also has a small, fenced-in outdoor seating area.
As with many local spots, Magnolia prides itself on its offerings of local, organic fare. The Vermont omelet with maple sausage, cheddar cheese and apples, captures the local flavors perfectly. If you’re getting a late start to the day and are feeling more on the lunch side of brunch, they also make a mean sandwich. Their take on the Cuban, made with pulled pork from a local Vermont farm, is particularly tasty. And if you’re in the mood for an adult beverage, they feature a solid selection of Vermont beers, as well as a seasonal cocktail menu.
