Hands down the most family friendly beach on the island, Lydgate Beach Park has long acted as a gathering place for local families and travelers.
The man-made lava rock barrier creates a natural swimming and snorkeling area, perfect for keikis, snorkelers, and lap swimmers. There’s usually a lifeguard on duty as well. Showers, toilets, picnic areas with pavilions and grills, and a grassy field lure the crowds on weekends and holidays.
Families should check out Kalamani Playground, which was designed by local kids and constructed by their families in 1994.
