When you’re ready for a bit of respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, head to the Lungomare, Naples seafront promenade, to breathe in the sun, the sea and the views.
Towards the sea, the iconic double humped shape of Vesuvius dominates the bay and stretches out towards Sorrento, Capri and the promontory of Posillipo. Towards the city, a patchwork quilt of sun drenched colors is draped across Vomero hill. This just may be one of the most beautiful seafront promenades in the world, but we’ll let you decide.
Stroll the Lungomare at dawn to take in a Vesuvian sunrise or watch the local fishermen bring in the catch-of-the-day. Head there midday and dine alfresco or a bit later, to sip a sunset Spritz. Rent a bike, tandem, roller blades or a boat, there are even ponies and pint sized motorized vehicles for the kids. Visit a medieval castle steeped in lore, promenade in the Peoples’ park or simply lay back and sunbathe on Naples famous white rocks.
