This is an older resort, tucked into a quiet bay on Conchas Chinas. It has great charm, the food is excellent – Chef Edwardo is incredible – and the sunsets from the oceanside tables in the dining room are fabulous.
The beach in front of the resort is public, and accessible, and attracts families with children. The rocks are havens for interesting crabs and critters, and the water is quite calm.
The diniing room is famous for its special nights – Tuesday night is Italian Night, with excellent pasta, a salad and soup for 248 pesos, including a glass of house wine. There is live music too.
Thursday night is burger night – but not just your ordinary burger . There are fish burgers and shrimp burgers, Hawaiian burgers, mexican beef burgers and American style burgers. Add fries, any toppings you can dream of, and dessert, plus a cocktail and the bargain is amazing. It is served buffet style, but the live music and the ocean are a real plus.
And the food is excellent, with friendly service too.
The resort is moderately priced and carries a lot of history. Have a look at the photos of Puerto Vallarta in the hallway – they show the little fishing village it once was.
