Officially called Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, and, well, that’s about the fanciest thing about it. The guy who grew up to be known as Honest Abe was born here, back when it was known as Sinking Springs Farm. Sounds like a charming place. An early 19th century cabin is preserved in a memorial building, along with a visitor’s center that has more facts on Abe than you ever knew.
And, don’t miss his boyhood home, just down the road.
