The name (The King of Spain) is owed to Charles 11 who, in 1697 when the house was built, was the King of Spain and sovereign of the Southern Netherlands, which included Belgium. The bust over the entrance is Saint Aubert, the patron saint of Bakers. The cosy interior and the sunny terrace outside make this a popular haunt all year round. Turn up early, or fight for a table in season.
