A big eye-ball in a grove of trees or a big smiley face amphitheater are among the 75 pieces of contemporary art placed creatively in the 100 acres of Laumeier Sculpture Park – and there’s more inside.
One of the world’s few open-air museums, the park also has some great hiking trails and exhibits about the natural environment as inspiration for art.
As tempting as it is, you really shouldn’t climb around on or pose with the sculptures.
The museum shop is a great place to find unique and interesting home decor items, gifts and jewelry made by local and regional artists.
Mark the first weekend of May on your calendar for the Art Fair at Laumeier when 150 juried artisans show their best at in the park.
