Lake Louise Village

Not much more than a busy little mall

The small gathering of shops in Samson Mall forms the heart of Lake Louise Village and mean it’s not really a place to linger, rather a place to stock up, sort out and get out.

But it’s a really useful supply stop thanks to the presence of: an info centre; post office; bus and raft tour booking office; a general store; a bakery; an outdoor gear and bike store with rentals; a good bookshop; a laundrette; and public washrooms with showers. And there are a couple of cafes and restaurants in a hotel and hostel a short walk away.

Greyhound (greyhound.ca) buses from Banff, Calgary and Golden stop here, as do some Brewster (brewster.ca) shuttle services to Calgary, Banff and Jasper via the Icefields Parkway and Château Lake Louise. For a taxi call Lake Louise Taxi & Tours (403-522-2020).
