Lake Komani is not a natural lake but was created by a dam as part of a hydroelectric project in the eighties. It was described by one traveller as being ‘like the riverboat sequence in the first Lord of the Rings movie’.
The ferry takes cars and foot passengers. It doesn’t operate during winter and only makes one journey per day so check and book in advance.
