With the construction of the Wolf Creek Dam in 1950, came the birth of Lake Cumberland, one of Kentucky’s most popular tourist destinations. The 63,000 acre lake, with 1,225 miles of shoreline, has more waterfront access than the state of Florida and is considered one of the best boating and fishing areas in the eastern United States. The park itself offers both indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, miniature golf, horseback riding and a 9-hole par-3 golf course.
