night at 6 PM, DC’s world-famous Kennedy Center holds a free show at its
Millenium Stage. Set directly in the atrium of the center, the Stage is no
opera house, but it’s a breathtaking part of the building all the same. Red
carpets line the floors and the high ceilings are hung with flags of the world.
Take a moment before or after the show to mill around the patio area, where you
can sometimes get a drink and watch the sun set over Georgetown University’s
iconic Healy Hall and the Potomac River. Find their schedule of free acts on
their website to figure out what matches up with your travel dates.
