The Kalahari Resort is the granddaddy of the Dells’ waterpark resorts. Its indoor waterpark weighs in at 125,000 square feet and offers something for everyone. Tots have a variety of places to splash around in, including Tiko’s Watering Hole, a kids’ play zone that features slides, a pint-sized lazy river and more. And for bigger kids? There are plenty of exciting rides, like the popular Flow-Rider, a surf/boogie board ride, and the Master Blaster, a water roller coaster.
There are also three truly thrilling waterslides, including America’s first indoor “super loops,” which propel you up to 25 mph as you drop nearly 60 feet. (Note: You’ll emerge from the ride with the biggest wedgie of your life. Guaranteed.) The outdoor waterpark, open seasonally, features a similar mix of rides for all ages.
Can’t forget to mention the Mud Hut, an area in the indoor waterpark that features Wisconsin’s first swim-up bar. There’s also an indoor/outdoor hot tub. Of course the resort offers a lot more than waterparks. Like the impressive Kalahari Indoor Theme Park, with so many components you’ll be occupied all day. And then there’s Spa Kalahari, plus shops and restaurants galore.
Lodging options include everything from standard rooms to condos — within the resort or stand-alone buildings on the grounds — that sleep up to 22.
The Kalahari Resort is also linked to a massive convention center and the Desert Star Cinema.
