Duck! The John Hancock Tower has a history of windows spontaneously detaching and crashing to the sidewalk on Copley Square. (Just kidding. It hasn’t happened in years.) Designed by I.M. Pei and Henry N. Cobb, the building — windows aside — was a feat of engineering and innovation for its time.
Just imagine the view from the top. The Hancock Tower observation deck was a popular must-do in Boston, but it has been closed since September 2001, due to security concerns. Instead, admire the view of the historic Trinity Church, as reflected in the modern Hancock.
And for a bird’s eye views of the Hancock, check it out from the nearby Prudential Center Skywalk.
