Isaiah Jones Homestead

Victorian romance

Save to my Account

Isaiah Jones Homestead, a quintessentially Victorian B&B, is located smack in the middle of the (quiet and lovely) village of Sandwich. It’s filled with antiques and elegantly decorated with rich colors and fabrics. High ceilings emphasize its spaciousness. The adjacent 1875 carriage house has even more privacy, with two roomy suites on the second floor, each with a sitting area overlooking the gardens and a convertible sofa.

The delightful and down-to-earth innkeepers, Katherine and Donny Sanderson, presiding since 2007, serve a scrumptious 3-course breakfast each morning – perfect for such a romantic setting. On my last visit it consisted of a perfectly crumbly scone, a warm pear with raisins and challah bread French toast with orange, orange extract and orange zest.

(PS — more precisely: Katherine is the gourmet cook, and Donny is the showman :-))

It’s just a few doors down from the Brown Jug, a place you will pop into more than once I suspect, and around the corner from the excellent fine dining at the Belfry Bistro.
