Located on the grounds of The Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead and Old Mill Theatre, Inspiration Point is the second-highest spot in Missouri, but you can get even higher by taking the glass elevator 230 feet up to Inspiration Tower’s observation room, where you’re treated to fine views in all directions. In clear weather you can see as far as 50 miles; in fact, you can sometimes even see people on their boats on Table Rock Lake.
While at the top, be sure to take in the 8-minute video about the history of Branson and places of interest you can see from the tower. Older kids, however, will want to take the the Vigilante ziprider that runs from Inspiration Tower’s observation deck a half mile downhill.
NOTE: Inspiration Tower is undergoing renovation. Check the website for its reopening.
