Howie’s Restaurant is a solid choice for a breakfast spot. The spacious restaurant serves up typical breakfast fare: eggs, toast, pancakes and waffles, plus corned beef hash, country fried steak and eggwiches.
A kids’ menu contains chocolate chip pancakes, piggies in blankets and smiley-face pancakes, among other offerings.
The food is fresh and tasty, and the service is prompt and friendly, always a plus. The one negative: the coffee isn’t the greatest.
Howie’s also houses a small collection of arts and crafts for sale in a room opposite the dining area.
One Note: You may get confused if you notice that Howie’s offers “Howie’s Huge Breakfast,” which is also prominently advertised at BJ’s Restaurant a short distance away. Howie’s also has a BJ-named menu item.
Explanation: The owners were once married and operated one restaurant together. When they split, one kept the restaurant and the other opened a new one.
