Tradita describes itself as a hotel, a restaurant and a museum… Curious about what that would look like? Think also what that would taste like. Or what it would be like to sleep in such a place…
The Tradita concept is the brainchild of its owner, the slightly mad Gjon Duke Gilaj who is usually wearing national costume and is deeply creative and passionate about his country’s heritage. The result is rooms designed to incorporate old weavings pressed between glass to form doors, a range of heritage food and drink you’ll find nowhere else in Albania (Gjon is also President of Slow Food Albania), and a collection of artefacts as rich as any ethnographic museum, on display around the bar and restaurant area.
The rooms all incorporate traditional crafts but are modern in their comfort, the food is flavoursome and interesting, the hospitality is genuine.
