The panoramic views from their rooftop terrace (where breakfast and dinner are served in nice weather) are a little ridiculous – in a good way. You can see Pitti Palace, the Pitti Palace Gardens and the somewhat distant Duomo, for starters.
The 15th century palace that houses this 14-room hotel has been pleasing restored. Rooms, some of them quite large, are done in warm colors and wood. The seasonal prices very greatly, but are nearly always an excellent value. There’s free wi-fi, a computer for guest use, an onsite restaurant and all rooms have air conditioning. Plus, you’re only seconds from chaos at Ponte Vecchio.
It’s a 97-step climb, so the elevator is probably a good idea. Breakfast is not included in the price.
