Built of stone in 1550, this nicely restored hotel has the advantage of being in the center of historic Riquewihr.
The surrounding streets are pedestrian only, but guests are allowed to drive up to the front of the Couronne to unload luggage. Parking in the private lot costs an additional €3. There’s no elevator, and the spiraling steps are steep, so this is not a good choice for anyone with mobility problems.
Rooms vary in size and furnishing, so be specific about your preferences when you book. If you’re staying more than a night or two, consider booking one of the apartments or oversized rooms for three. You’ll appreciate the extra space.
The friendly staff speaks English, and the €9 breakfast is plentiful and good.
