A high-energy mother and son team run this 24-room hotel, which has the distinction of being the first hotel in Florence to have both hot and cold running water in the rooms (1926).

The buzz around town is that the great value rooms, hospitality and amenities here makes it Florence’s best two-star option. Each room has a refrigerator, safe, DVD player (they have a DVD library as well) and hairdryer. The breakfast buffet, wi-fi and air conditioning are included in the price. There’s also a computer for guest use.

Parking is available for extra charge. During a few weeks in high season, the prices edge into mid-range territory.
