Horton Vineyards

The winery for whites

Save to my Account

Horton is primarily known for its white wines, particularly its Viognier and Petit Manseng. In fact, the American Sommelier Association has touted Horton’s Viognier in the past as one to include on a well-rounded wine list. Winemaker Dennis Horton discovered that the white wines of the Rhone Valley in France—using grapes with thick skins and loose clusters—did particularly well in the warm and humid Virginia climate. Looking a bit like a German castle with its Tudor styling and turret, the winery tasting room is open daily ($6) and the winery often hosts special events on weekends.
