If romance is part of your Oregon Coast getaway, head straight over to Pacific City’s newest accommodation option, Headlands Lodge and Spa. The combination of the simplicity of wood, giant windows and a stunning location directly in front of the Pacific Ocean at Cape Kiwanda State Park helps set the mood for a special time at the coast. Headlands deep love affair with Oregon is on display in everything from the design of the Lodge, the aesthetics of the all the products and the bounty of all things local.
Headlands Lodge and Spa gets all the details right for higher end accommodations. As if placing two kinds of pillows (both down and synthetic) are on each bed wasn’t enough, the Lodge also has a “pillow bar” so you can choose the just right pillow to use during your stay. The blackout window covering in each room is a single curtain so that sliver of light doesn’t wake you up in the morning. You can even look out at the ocean from the shower, a window is the only thing that separates the bathroom from the main part of each room. But don’t worry; there is a curtain outside of the shower for privacy if desired. An honor pantry is located on each floor with Oregon-centric snacks featuring Tillamook ice cream, designer nuts, pretzels and chocolates.
One feature that makes Headlands special is the “Adventure Guides”. Think of them as the outdoor recreation concierge. The Adventure Guides will guide a hike up the gigantic sand dune at the end of the beach or to the Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge. They will set up a surf lesson with the friendly folks at Moment Surf Company or arrange for a fishing trip with local dory boat fishermen. There are complementary yoga and strength training classes. Occasionally one of the owners will give a cooking class in the open kitchen at the Lodge’s own Meridian Restaurant that is free to all guests. There are also a full array of spa treatments available and an ocean view hot tub.
It’s easy to fall back in love with Oregon with a stay at Headlands Lodge and Spa.
