Tucked away from the main haunts, stepping into Grottino 1313 is like entering another world: cozy and welcoming, but with a discernible sense of cool.
The dark, rustic interior, with its farmhouse atmosphere (despite semi-industrial surroundings) and mammoth fireplace reveal quirky decorative touches (look up at the chandelier!).
The menu is straightforward and incredibly good value: a lunchtime appetizer and pasta dish costs CHF20, a four-course meal a mere CHF64). Italian flavors and recipes dominate (al dente pasta, perfect panna cotta), service is brisk but friendly and the atmosphere unbeatable. In summer there’s a nice terrace for those needing a little more sunshine. Reservations advised.
