That’s how Gooey Butter Cake came to be in the 1940s during war rationing and it’s has been on the table of St. Louis family gatherings, in bakeries, restaurants and grocery stores ever since.
On any given day, you can find about ten varieties of Gooey Butter Cakes at Gooey Louie’s. It’s the only thing they make.
