The Goodwill Bridge is for pedestrians and cyclists only. It spans the Brisbane River linking the southern end of South Bank Parklands to Gardens Point, at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), on the edge of the City Botanical Gardens.
Opened in October 2001, it takes its name from the Goodwill Games, which were held in Brisbane that year.
One of the best things about the bridge – apart from the lack of traffic – is the jutting out seating bays along the way, which provide a place to rest and relax and watch the river. And halfway across, there is a coffee shop: Brendan’s Cafe on the Goodwill Bridge.
