The Giant’s tombs, tomba dei giganti, are megalithic burial chambers of the Nuragic times. They are slab covered long corridors like a gallery tomb. The facade is half moon shaped and it is made of long standing stones with a central stele or tall slab and a small doorway on the bottom. Looking down at the tomb, you’ll notice it resembles a bull’s head, symbol of the male god Taurus, as well as a woman’s reproductive organs. The photo shows a model of a Giant’s Tomb.
Good examples of Giant’s Tombs that you can visit are Tomba dei Gigant Lu Coddui, Tomba dei Giganti Li Lolghi and Tomba dei Giganti S’Ena e Thomes.
