Most gay and lesbian bars and lounges catering to gays and lesbians are located in Downtown Orlando, not near the theme parks. They cater mostly to locals. Straights also visit a few clubs on special show and entertainment nights. Among the best-known hangouts are:
The Parliament House claims to be the world’s largest all gay resort and entertainment complex. It offers over a half dozen bars and hosts its famous female impersonator shows on select nights. Hank’s is a longtime (30+ years) casual gay bar with full bar, pool, darts and outdoor patio. Located at 5026 Edgewater Drive, 2810; (407) 291-2399
Hamburger Mary’s Bar and Grill This lesbian hangout features trivia night, show nights, early and late happy hours; also Sunday brunch. Located at 110 W Church St., 32801; (321) 319-0600.
Southern Nights (formerly Revolution Nightclub) has lots of space for a night’s entertainment themes. These include College Nights, music with DJ, Happy Hour Tuesdays with free BBQ, and fetish and costume parties. Located at 375 South Bumby Ave. 32803; (407) 228-9900. Mixed gay/lesbian.
