Gateway Arch Riverboats

A Mark Twain-like Experience

Save to my Account

The boats are replica paddlewheelers, like those in the Mark Twain novels, and their names are Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher. And they cruise on the Mississippi, but that’s about as far as the story goes.

Yet, these boats are air conditioned and a whole lot more comfortable that those Samuel Clemens piloted on Old Man River.

A National Park Service Ranger tells the story of Old Man River and its impact on the growth and development of St. Louis in a fun one-hour tour.

There are also dinner cruises and entertainment cruises featuring some of St. Louis’ best blues bands.

The boats are located on the riverfront by the Arch and run March through November, but do not run when the river is above flood stage.
