Tucked into 36 quiet, wooded acres just 10 minutes north of the Dells, the family-owned Fawn Creek Winery produces a Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Semi-Sweet Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay from California grapes.
Fawn Creek also planted several acres of French hybrids, and in 2016 unveiled the first wine produced from its vines: Prairie Star Reserve.
The picturesque winery holds free wine tastings daily. Guests can purchase wine by the glass or bottle, and enjoy it out back on the expansive deck, along with elegant hors d’oeuvres from the micro menu; e.g., artisan cheese flights.
Fawn Creek has a nicely-stocked gift shop, filled with the requisite wine-related items. It also contains a lot of Northwoods-themed gifts, so make sure to allow extra time to browse through its goods.
Live music is held on the deck every Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day through Fall Fest in October. And speaking of Fall Fest, don’t forget to check out the calendar of events before you plan your trip. Fawn Creek offers popular seasonal events like the aforementioned Fall Fest and June’s popular BBQ & Blues Fest.
The winery can ship its vino to Illinois and Minnesota, and offers a case club. Cheers to that!
