The Farmhouse Tap and Grill, located just off Church Street, is one of Burlington’s most popular restaurants, and for good reason. This farm-to-table gastropub has a great selection of Vermont beer, as well as popular micro-brews from all over the country, and are constantly rotating taps (check the restaurant’s website to see the current selection). They usually have several offerings from the highly rated Hill Farmstead brewery, worth the visit alone.
In the summer there’s an outdoor beer garden with couches and high-top tables, and in the winter there’s a cozy basement with a fireplace and communal seating at long tables with benches. The menu features locally sourced meat and vegetables and cheese – the burgers and the mac and cheese are particularly good.
This place attracts crowds throughout the year, but gets particularly busy on summer weekends, so make sure to reserve early or be prepared for a wait. The beer garden and the basement lounge are both first-come, first-serve, and there’s often a line of folks waiting for others to leave before being allowed in.
