and a cooking school. It’s a pretty, sprawling compound of dramatic
interiors filled with Asian antiques and wood carvings.

bar. A stunning row of chadas – Thai crowns of gold with a spike on
top that points to the sky – greets visitors at the entrance to Lan
Na Thai. Scale the stairs to Hazara and you meet a large-scale statue
of what looks to be Garuda, poised with wings spread.
