Located at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, this restaurant pays homage to Hawai‘i’s most beloved Duke Kahanamoku, who was famous for being an outstanding surfer and three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer. One of the largest and most enjoyable restaurants on O‘ahu, this beachfront bar and grill starts with a breakfast buffet early in the morning, continues with lunch, then happy hour and eventually becomes a bustling dinner scene. Duke’s is a tropical themed restaurant that offers an open-air atmosphere, complete with a menu of fresh fish and island delights, along with roving musicians. My suggestion is to dine at sunset and request a table along the rail for views. And if you like tropical cocktails, go for the lava flow – it’s dessert and a cocktail all in one.
