Much more than swimming with a dolphin

Ever wanted to touch or swim with a dolphin? You can at SeaWorld Orlando’s Discovery Cove, a theme park very different from the main SeaWorld attraction.

The 30-acre Discovery Cove Water Park is an all-inclusive, all-day experience. Admission includes free parking, use of lockers, wetsuit and mask, towels, shower facilities, souvenir snorkel, complimentary entry photo and breakfast and lunch as well as all drinks (including alcohol for those over 21).

Discovery Cove features rocky lagoons, coral reefs, tropical rivers and a resort-style pool with waterfalls, and pristine white-sand beaches. All of it is surrounded by elaborate tropical-style landscaping.

Two optional activities have a fee. One is a half-hour interactive dolphin experience with a trainer that ends with an exhilarating dorsal fin tow back to shore. Those  participating in the dolphin swim must be 6 years or older. Children ages 6-12 must be accompanied by a paying adult who also is taking the dolphin swim experience. Also requiring an additional fee is SeaVenture, an underwater walking tour of Grand Reef while wearing a dive helmet. No scuba required

All other activities at Discovery Cove are included in the admission fee. At Freshwater Oasis, wading adventures provide face-to-face encounters with otters and marmosets, one of the world’s smallest monkeys. Serenity Bay is perfect for swimming in 85-degree freshwater pool or just hanging out on the sand beach.

On the Wind-Away River, snorkel the gentle river currents past sandy beaches into a rain forest and through an underwater cave. On the Grand Reef, swim with tropical fish and rays for as long as you like. Snorkel beside reef sharks separated behind safety glass  And—with the right camera–even photograph them underwater.

Stay dry and watch dolphin through an underwater viewing area, listening as the mammals communicate with high frequency clicking and whistling sounds. Visit the free-flight aviary to hand-feed and photograph many types of tropical birds, including colorful toucans. Great photo ops since the birds are not caged.

SeaWorld offers a bonus for those purchasing an all-inclusive day at Dolphin Cove. Guests receive unlimited admission to SeaWorld Orlando or the Aquatica Water Park for up to 14 consecutive days.
