One of only 44 botanical gardens accredited by the American Association of Museums, the Desert Botanical Garden has four major trails—Desert Discovery, Plants & People of the Sonoran Desert, Desert Wildflower and Sonoran Desert Nature. A Phoenix favorite, the garden offers a variety of programs ranging from its butterfly exhibit, Mariposa Monarca, to its seasonal concerts. Look for adults-only programs like the Biergarten, Agave on the Rocks, and Corks & Cactus, but don’t miss the family-friendly events such as The Great Pumpkin Festival and the ever-popular Noches de Las Luminarias.
