The Hamilton Building, designed by Daniel Lebiskind, has attracted visitors from around the world because of its unique, modern
architecture. The North Building, will be closed until 2020 for a major renovation. All exhibits will be shown in the Hamilton Building. Until May 19, 2018 there is an exhibit on the third and fourth floors which has over three hundred objects drawn from all of the museum’s collections. Every piece has a relationship to animals.

Special shows for 2018 include Degas, A Passion for Perfection, which opens February 11, Rembrandt, Painter vs Print Maker which opens September 10 and Dior, From Paris to the World which opens November 18.

This is a child-friendly art museum, with lots of displays where kids can touch and play with art. On weekends and holidays, the museum offers free age-specific backpacks that focus on specific types of art. These family backpacks include games and projects for the kids.
