Introducing “exotic” coffee drinks such as cappuccino and espresso to St. Louis in the 1970s, Cyrano’s, at its original location in Clayton, became a household name. It closed its doors in 1996, but in 2003, a group of local restaurateurs decided to reinvent Cyrano’s, this time in Webster Groves, using much of the same furniture and artwork to give the classic restaurant a modern twist.
While the caffeinated beverages, from macchiatos and mochas to coffee cockatils, are a must try, the larger-than-life desserts really steal the show.
Inventive ice cream desserts, pastries, cakes, even chocolate covered bacon, are handmade on the premises and presented beautifully on the plate, almost too lovely to eat.
Customers are able indulge their sweet tooth while sampling various wines from the extensive wine list, or enjoy Cyranos’ small-portion tapas for a light lunch.
With a romantic and relaxing atmosphere, Cyrano’s is a great place to spend an afternoon, whether you’re just popping in for lunch or having a long chat over wine or coffee.
The outdoor patio is idyllic on a pleasant afternoon, while the indoor dining room provides a cool and comfortable atmosphere, with live jazz once a month.
