If you’ve got little kids, Country Bumpkin Farm Market is a great spot to spend an hour or so. Even if you don’t, it’s still worth a stop.
The neat, attractive farm market is just a few minutes west of the Dells. A wide assortment of berries and veggies are for sale throughout the growing season, both “U-Pick” and “We Pick” — great if you’re staying in lodging with a kitchen and plan to make your own meals, or to grab on your way back home.
Inside the small store, you can purchase a few additional items like natural popcorn, ice cream and made-from-scratch cookies, pies and strawberry muffins.
Kids will love the outdoor play village and petting zoo. The miniature village sports a home, school, barn and church. Kids can go into all of the buildings, and there are even animals in the barn. The owners plan to add a jail, general store and log cabin in the future.
If that’s not enough to keep little ones occupied, there’s also a tractor corral filled with mini tractors to pedal around, and chutes where tots can race plastic ducks.
Most days the brightly colored Express Train is running, too. Hop aboard for a leisurely 30-minute ride around the farm.
Modest fees are charged to use the play village and ride the train.
