Colonial National Historical Park stretches for more than 9,000-acres on a peninsula between the York and James rivers. Historic Jamestowne and the Yorktown Battlefield are contained within the park as is the Colonial Parkway, a 23-mile road that connects Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. The roadway is the most scenic way to travel between the three destinations.
Like many parks under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, the Colonial National Historical Park offers guided tours and hands-on programs at Historic Jamestowne and at the Yorktown Battlefield.
Tip: Cyclists like to pedal the parkway, the Yorktown Battlefield as well as the scenic loop drive in Historic Jamestown.
