CoCo Key Water Resort on International Drive brings a new wrinkle to vacations and water parks. The 391 guest rooms are clustered around a large, 62,000-square-foot canopy and outdoor playground with water cannons, heated swimming pools and water slides with names like Boomerango, Surfer Splash and Over the Falls.
This family resort to is designed attract younger children, ages 5 to 7. Understandably, one of the more popular features is Parrot’s Perch, a wet jungle gym containing a 400-gallon bucket ready to douse waiting bystanders. Besides water rides, CoCo Key also offers a Minnow Lagoon for toddlers and Coral Reef Cove for teens.
Tables border the inside water playground where families can dine, while adults can buy a drink at the Wet Rooster Tiki Bar. Dining facilities are more than adequate with Tradewinds Grill offering a buffet breakfast, the Callaloo Grill for lunch and dinner and a convenience store. The hotel’s location on I-Drive puts it in easy reach of numerous restaurants.
Coco Key Water Resort amenities include transportation (with fee) to theme parks, free parking, free wireless high-speed Internet access in rooms and public areas. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs, coffee makers and mahogany furniture with tropical accents.
People not staying at the hotel are welcome to come and play, with day passes sold until full capacity is reached. An outdoor heated pool and hot tub are reserved for guests only.
