Disney Springs has several new holiday features for this year. They include:
Expanded Christmas Tree Trail: Ten new trees feature Disney film classics like “Sleeping Beauty,” “Peter Pan,” “Snow White” and “Dumbo.” This now makes a total of 25 decorated trees on the Christmas Trail, each inspired by a Disney theme.
Santa’s Chalet: Located by the Christmas Tree Trail, Santa Claus will be in residence accepting Christmas wish lists until December 24.
Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt: Stitch is back but with a larger scavenger hunt featuring 16 stops, including one at the Christmas Tree Trail.
Meet & Greet with the Coca-Cola Polar Bear: Visit the second floor of The Coca-Cola Store to have your photo taken with the eight-foot tall, iconic Coke holiday brand ambassador.
La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil: Since December of 1988, La Nouba has entertained 11 million guests with a run of more than 8,600 shows. The popular gravity-defying spectacular ends for good on December 31. Limited tickets are available at CirqueduSoleil.com/la-nouba.
Shopping at Disney Springs: The World of Disney, the world’s largest Disney merchandise store, stocks more than 50,000 different items in one convenient location. By comparison, the Star Wars Galactic Outpost is a tiny alcove but still with a nice selection of apparel and other merchandise. For small children, The LEGO Store has a good variety of figurines, toys and building sets.
Parking at Disney Springs is free.
There is only so much Christmas you can bring to the African landscape and still have it look and feel like Africa. Yet Disney’s Animal Kingdom makes the most of it with an animal-themed holiday tree to greet guests and cheerful garlands to decorate the park.
For the first time Animal Kingdom is open after dark for the holidays. This brings a whole new experience to Tree of Life transformations, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali Rivers Rapids and Expedition Everest. And don’t miss the new Rivers of Light show on the lagoon surrounded by Asia, DinoLand, and Discovery. This was Animal Kingdom’s first nighttime spectacular and it remains one of the best.
