The building in which this interesting museum is housed was once Chiang Mai’s City Hall, then after renovation in the late 1990s it reopened as an Arts & Cultural Centre. Spread over two floors, the displays cover the city’s history, customs and culture. It’s a pleasure walking through the large, airy rooms and piecing together the creation of this fascinating town, and there’s a relaxing café out back.
