No need to 4WD through this redwood

Sure it’s quirky, but why not motor through a redwood tree? This southern-most tree has been offering kitschy photo opps for travelers since 1937. Estimated at just over 2000 years old, and about 300 feet high, most visitors are shocked to note that the tree is still alive.

Drive-Thru Tree Park also makes a great place to view sword ferns, giant horsetails and intact redwoods. Wander along the creek and try to spot giant bullfrogs, ducks, geese, and deer.

Bring a picnic, and then take some time to walk one of the many trails in the park.
