The gravestones reveal the miner's hard lives

Save to my Account

Reading the worn gravestones in Central City’s cemeteries reveals how raw life must have been for the miners who came here in the late 1800s. The miners died young and their children often died in infancy. To visit the cemetery drive along Central City’s main street and continue up the road for about a mile. The cemetery will be on your right.

Consider this one of the most interesting stops when you visit Central City to explore this former mining town or to gamble.
